About South Sky Aviation
South Sky Aviation is an FAA approved Part 141 flight school and one of the elite flight training centers in the United States. We have been training professional pilots for 21 years. Located in Pompano Beach, Florida, South Sky Aviation flight academy is perfectly situated at a general aviation airport with three runways and an air traffic control tower. Couple that with nearly 360 days of good flying weather each year, and a flat terrain, and you will have one of the safest areas in the country in which to train. Our safety record speaks for itself. Every aspect of our flight training is focused on safety.
South Sky Aviation is owned by and managed by a Commercial Airline Pilot with more than 13,000 hours of flight time logged in the Airbus A300, the Boeing 747-200 and 400, as well as the McDonnell Douglas MD-11. With such an accomplished Commercial Pilot at the helm, it is no wonder that our students do so well. His focus is on teaching people to be proficient and safe pilots. In addition, he offers much sought after aviation career guidance, and is often able to help with job placement.
Our student pilots have access to a state-of-the-art Advanced Aviation Training Device full motion flight simulator offering high quality instrument training both with the Garmin 430/530 and the G1000 full glass cockpit. In addition, our training aircraft are outfitted with Garmin 430 GPS units plus the traditional six-pack instrumentation ensuring that our students get the best of both worlds when they are learning to fly.
South Sky Aviation flight school offers accelerated flight training that will take you from zero hours straight to commercial pilot license in as little as 16 weeks. You’ll earn your Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot License and complete your program with a minimum of 250 flight hours. Students train in Cessna 152’s, Cessna 172’s, Piper Arrow (PA-28) and Beechcraft Duchess (BE-76) aircraft. Our programs are specifically developed to offer the type of training pilots will need in order to land the best jobs in aviation worldwide.
